Heart of a Child Ministries was started by the Bernie and Nikki Schaefer family in 2012. At a prayer service on the anniversary of Roe v Wade, their seven year old daughter, Grace, was inspired to create the Pro-life Prayer Pillow (click here for details). The pro-life presentations took off from there.
The Schaefer's live on an acreage outside of Omaha, NE with their six children and forty-something animals.
Bernie is the Vice President of a Christian/Catholic radio station in Omaha. Nikki has a masters in social work, is an author and illustrator, and directs the family ministry, Heart of a Child Ministries (see Nikki's detailed professional experience by clicking here or goto www.nikkischaefer.org).
Nikki and Bernie see both the farm and the ministry as an integral part of their family's life learning. From the little ones stuffing prayer pillows, to the big kids helping with presentations, it is a family and community affair.
